LCC have installed a locked gate on a public bridleway at the rear of Park View riding school which needs removing. This has now caused numerous issues with exercising horses safely. Not only that but by illegally installing this gate, there is now no access for emergency vehicles should there be an accident beyond this area. A toyota yaris dark blue registration Y665 VOP, the driver of the vehicle lost control & hit the lamp post, damaging the lamp post & turned lighting by 90 degrees. The vehicle has been abandoned on the grass verge, corner of 119 Colchester Road. It has been ongoing for almost 2 weeks now and the street light has still not been fixed so again it is very difficult to see during the night when coming back home from work and it is unsafe for pedestrians. I am concerned and quite shocked to find that a gate has just been erected here by the Council as it blocks an established public bridleway which has been used for decades. Riders are now unable to use the full (and rather dilapidated) bridleway loop which runs round the other side of the A46 and back and, moreover, riders are now being forced more and more onto riding on the Anstey Lane main road, with all its attendant dangers. -Parkview, 100 Anstey Lane, Thurcaston, LE7 7JA
