Bins are permanently left throughout Fleetwood Road and the adjoining streets, and about the lack of effective action despite repeated reports\. There have been over 30 reports made through the Love Leicester app about this issue\. Many of them have been deleted, while others have been marked as “claimed”, but there has still been no lasting improvement\. This has been going on for years, and residents should not have to keep reporting the same problem when nothing is being done\. There are lines of bins all along Fleetwood Road and the surrounding streets, including bins belonging to residents of Welford Road\. They are being left out permanently, not just on collection days\. This is affecting the whole area, including the streets joining and surrounding Fleetwood Road, rather than just one particular location\. Warning stickers have previously been put on some bins telling residents to put them away or risk being fined\. This happened again recently, but only around eight bins received stickers, even though approximately 30 bins were visible at the time\. Why were the rest not dealt with, and what follow\-up action has been taken across Fleetwood Road and all the adjoining streets? The impact on residents is unacceptable\. The bins are an eyesore, attract vermin and caused such unbearable smells during the summer that residents could not open their windows\. They also blow over, obstruct the pavements and risk damaging parked cars\. Blocked pavements are especially difficult for wheelchair users, people with pushchairs and anyone with limited mobility\.
