I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concern about a recent incident in which I was unjustly accused of fly-tipping. I would like to clarify the situation and respectfully request that you investigate this matter more thoroughly.

Several days ago, I attempted to dispose of a few cardboard boxes in the designated recycling bin in our area. This large bin has two openings: one small and one larger lid. Unfortunately, the smaller opening was not big enough for my boxes, and I discovered the larger lid was locked. With no alternative place to dispose of these boxes, I placed them temporarily on top of a piece of furniture that had already been left next to the bin by someone else.

To my surprise, I have now been notified that I am under investigation for alleged fly-tipping. This is both unfair and unjustifiable, particularly because there are far larger items—such as discarded furniture, trolleys, and even toilets—consistently being left around the same area. It is my understanding that these items have not received similar labels, making the focus on my cardboard boxes seem disproportionate and unreasonable.

I take my responsibility to recycle and dispose of waste properly very seriously. I believe there needs to be an immediate review of the recycling bin’s access, as a locked main lid makes it difficult to properly dispose of larger recyclable items. Additionally, it would be helpful if clearer guidance were provided for residents on how to dispose of oversized materials, especially when the bins are inadequately accessible.

I would appreciate it if you could provide more information on the reason for this allegation and advise on how best to resolve this situation.-le1 2gt
