I am concerned that the building work taking place at 1 Skelton Drive may be causing debris to fall into Saffron Brook which could damage this fragile ecosystem. This includes a sheet of what looks from a distance as though it could be asbestos roofing material. I know that undisturbed asbestos is not harmful but would be reassured to know that there is not more of this or other materials finding their way into the Brook. I am concerned that the building work taking place at 1 Skelton Drive may be causing debris to fall into Saffron Brook which could damage this fragile ecosystem. The overgrowth has restricted the walkway, where it is impossible for 2 people to pass one another safely. This issue has progressed from an inconvenience to an active hazard. On several occasions, I have been forced to walk directly onto the live road to allow oncoming pedestrians, families with prams, and other pavement users to pass by. This road needs signage to show that it's not a suitable route for lorry drivers. There is a bridge that lorries cannot pass under. Today a lorry blocked the road at 5pm because the driver had turned into the road and only realised halfway along that the lorry couldn't pass under the bridge. The driver had to reverse the full length of the road, asking other drivers to turn around. I spoke to some pedestrians who said it was a recurring problem and that the entrance to the road itself needs a sign so lorries don't turn in.-Knighton Fields Road West, Leicester, UK
